  • I: How do I change my password?

There is one simple way to recover your password and ID effectively and it is a good tip to change your password weekly/monthly and sign up for Email Verification at www.joymax.com

1. Go to www.joymax.com

2. Click Forget ID/Password below the login button.

3. It will send you to a page to find your ID if lost and reset your password if you forgot or need to change it.

!: For passwords make sure to use a complicated mixture of numbers and letters and not a specific word someone would say. :!:

A safe password will prevent user account attacks. This is the only method for account recovery. Make sure your secret question/answer and all your other information is something you will remember and nothing anyone can crack easily.

We recommend using Internet Explorer, our website seems to be a bit incompatible with Firefox.

If you do not know the answer to your secret question, you cannot change your password. We will not give you your secret answer or reset your password if you have forgotten it or the email address used to register.

  • II: My friend was blocked for no reason. Why was he/she blocked?

The reason for blockage is always listed. Once you enter your login information and attempt to login and fail, the reason for the block will be listed in the lower left. The most common reasons listed will be blocks for bot usage Illegal Program Use and chargeback related/use of stolen or financially fraudulent activity Extra Block Related Chargeback.

Because Chargeback related blocks are more complex if you click on the more details part of the block explanation you will get an in depth description and what action may be taken in a popup window.

  • III: There have been these sites selling silk and free gold and they have a similar appearance to the official site. What are they?

These are phishing sites. Essentially, these sites are set up for the sole purpose of stealing your account information at the least and other non-game related essential data stored on your pc as well. Some may also contain hidden Active X applets as well as other spyware which may install even upon browsing of these sites.

You cannot get silk any other way besides through the official website and certainly not for free. Any mention of pseudo-technical hacking processes these sites mention as being able to circumvent security is completely false. We also highly discourage any attempts to buy or sell gold. Loss of accounts is highly probable.

  • IV: I have been contacted by a GM outside the game but I am not sure if this person is really a GM. Can you help me?

GMs will NEVER initiate contact with you outside of the game. If you are contacted outside of the game by anyone with the name gm-crayon@joymax.co.kr or anything similar it is not a GM but rather someone who is trying scam you or steal your account. If you are contacted by such an individual please immediately break contact and report the address listed or any other information to the bug report section under the Customer Service tab on the official website http://www.silkroadonline.net.

Inside of the game, GM speech will always be pink and their GM title will be in brackets like this [GM]

GMs will never ask for your account information, email address, or password. If a GM sends you a private message, also known as a PM or whisper, you can request that the GM send a normal message in order to verify that the text appears in pink.

  • V: I have gotten a message from a GM stating that I had commited some infraction and would be punished when I did nothing wrong? I am not even sure if this person really was a GM. How can I tell if a person is an authentic GM?

GMs can be identified by the following criteria which are things not possible with normal characters 1) The GM notation is in brackets like this [GM] followed immediately by the name. There is no space in between this notation and the name. 2) GM normal dialogue text is either in pink or when addressing the entire server is posted similarly as an ingame notice [similar to the inspection notice warnings]

GMs will never do the following things 1) ask for your login information. Email, or password 2) use global chats [yellow text]

If you receive a whisper from a GM, you may request that they use normal text to prove their identity. If it comes out pink, they can be confirmed to be an actual GM.

  • VI: What will happen if I accept those offers of gold for silk?

We highly discourage this for the following reasons:

1) your login information will get stolen and you may lose your account and/or all the items in it 2) your account will get blocked due to fraudulent practices on the part of the one with the offer 3) you will end up scammed out of your hard earned gold

The most probable outcome of all of this is that you will lose your account for one reason or another. Avoid this outcome and simply ignore these offers.

  • VII: My account has been blocked with the stated reason due to chargeback reasons. How do I get it unblocked?

We will ONLY cancel/lift an account block when we recieve notification directly from Paypal, Cyberpass, and the various card companies that 1) the chargeback has been resolved and payment has been received or 2) the valid card/account holder has cancelled their chargeback claim

To unblock your account, you must first contact the payment partner that you used to make the purchase. If you used PayPal, contact PayPal. If you used ClickNBuy, contact ClickNBuy. If you used a credit card, contact your credit card company. You must resolve the ORIGINAL chargeback issue. We do not accept alternate payments. Please do not send us direct payments in an attempt to unblock your account. This does not work. After the issue has been settled, ask the payment provider to send us an email to paypro@silkroadonline.net . No forwarded emails, phone calls, faxes, or scanned copies of email is accepted. Only a direct email from the payment partner is accepted as proof that the chargeback is complete. Once this email has been received, we will lift the block.

Nothing else will result in the cancellation of your account block. Everything else will be rejected and will not result in the lifting of your account block.

  • VIII: I want to report a bot user. What should I do?

Please submit a bug report to the Customer Service section of the website. Bug reports are received directly by the GM team in Korea. We ask that our users not post bot reports on the forum or send us an email with the bot list, as this takes time away from our other duties. Please understand that this is an effort to maximize our resources and manage our system as efficiently as possible.

  • IX: I am having trouble connecting / I am getting errors when I am trying to connect.

The General Technical Issues forum has Stickies that address the most common technical problems within the game. Please read the stickies first, and if that does not work, post a thread on the General Technical Issues forum and a forum moderator or another user will reply.

  • X: I am using Level Up prepaid cards or A-Cash cards and I have been blocked. What do I do?

As our payment partners, Level Up and A-Cash payment systems are designed so that NetGames and AsiaSoft are responsible for verifying that there is money on the card, and that the PIN number is correct. Once this has been determined, NetGames and AsiaSoft servers transmit authorization data to our servers, which then credit you with the appropriate amount of silk.

If the transaction fails because you have entered a wrong PIN number, or the NetGames or AsiaSoft server determines that your PIN number is right, you have a certain number of tries you can have. Once those chances have been used up, NetGames or AsiaSoft servers send our servers an alert, and a ban is placed on your account. This is to prevent any possible fraudsters from accessing your account. To unblock your account, you must contact AsiaSoft or NetGames to clear the problem, and ask them to contact us. If you still are having trouble, post a thread on General Discussion and we will be able to help you.
