The following is a basic glossary of SilkRoad terminology.

AE: Accessory Elixir

AFAIK: As far as I know

AFK: Away from keyboard,staying logged on, but not at the computer

aggro: Short for aggressive. Term used to describe how certain monsters attack without provocation.

alias: Job name chosen at the time you sign up for a job; Hunter, Thief or Trader

AoE: Area of Effect, splash damage

AP: (obsolete)Arrange points. Before the job update in 2006, a thief got these for killing hunters/traders. 3k AP = wanted status

ATM: At the moment

Blue: When an item has a special imbue or other attribute increase

Botter/Bot: Someone using a 3rd party program to lvl a character illegally against ToS

Bot Trap: Using an NPC lightning thief to kill bots as they walk along the bot path.

BR: Brazil or Brazilian player

CCF: Credit card fraud

Char: Character

CN: China or Chinese player

c/o: Current offer, Refers to the highest bid on item being sold

Crit: Critical, high damage hit and weapon stat

CTF: Capture The Flag event.

DE: Double Experience

DH/DW: Donwhang city

Drop: Items dropped by mobs, not purchased

Farming: Maintaining a gap between your character level and your highest mastery level in order to harvest more SP than EXP

FR: France or French player

FTL: For the loss or lose

FTW: For the win

FW: Fortress War

GER: Germany or German player

GG/GJ: Good game, good job.

GL: Good luck

GNGWC Game In Game World Championships are the yearly PVP competition for SRO and many other Korean games sponsored by Game In Game.

gp: guild points

Grinding: Killing mobs and leveling, often for hours at a time.

GT: Gold ticket

gtg: Got to go

GW: Guild war

hybrid: Manually adding stat points to both strength and intelligence. The opposite of pure.

HUN: HUN or Hu is generally short for Hungarian players

Imbue: Chinese magic skill for use with any weapon

Int: Intelligence or intelligence stat point

Legit: To play without the use of unsanctioned software. ie: bots, loaders, altered clients, etc.

lvl: Level. Almost always abbreviated

LTP: Long time party

Mob: Monster

MP: Magic power, mana power

Mex: Mexico

MX: Mexico

NewB/n00b/noob/b00n/newbie: New player or as an insult indicating unfamiliarity with the game/forum

NP: No Problem

NPC: Non playable character generated by the game such as the blacksmith or herbalist

Nuke(r): magical skill that does high damage, or a char that can do high damage with magic, generally an INT build.

PE: Protector Elixir

PK: Player Killer

Popper: Player who uses an NPC thief to kill a player

Pot Delay: The delay time between using another potion after having already used one

Premium: An item mall item that gives bonus stats, extra quests for SP and prefered login. Comes in Silver, Gold and Super

PT: Party or abbreviation for Portugal (portuguese player)

Pure: Only int or str has been manually added to stats

PvE: Player vs. Environment (monsters)

PvP: Player versus player

PvM: Player vs monster

Quest: A task your character can uptake for a reward.

QFT: Quoted for truth

SE: Shield Elixir

Server: A server is one of 30 areas you can log into and create a character in. You cannot move your char from one server to another and each has its own seperate capacity.

SG: Singapore or Singaporean player

STFU: Shut the f**k up

Solo: Playing the game by yourself, with out any other party members, or in a exp distribution party.

SoS: Seal of Star

SoSUN: Seal of Sun

SoM: Seal of Moon

SoX: Any seal item

SP: Skill Points 400 skill EXP = 1 SP

spawn: Where you appear in game when you log in or after you die: eg: Ill spawn in town. Also refers to a group of mobs and/or the regeneration of them. eg; That mob has a terrible spawn rate.

SRO: Silkroad Online, sometimes called SR or iSRO

Stack: A group of identical items that take up one inventory space.

STR: Strength or strength stat point

Tank: A character designed specifically to aggro all the enemies while taking as little damage as possible.

tbh: To be honest

Ticket: golden/silver or premium ticket exp scroll purchased from item mall. Offers various benefits depending on type.

TR: Turkey or Turkish player

Train: To drag monsters on another player in order to kill them or to kill monsters; synonym of grind

TW: Taiwan or Taiwanese player

ty: thank you

Unique: Boss monster

VN: Slang term for Vietnamese players

VZLA: Venezuela or Venezuelan player

Wanted: (obsolete) Before the job update in 2006, a thief would gain arrange points for killing hunters and traders. Once a certain accumulation was reached, a thief became wanted. A wanted thief had a red exclamation mark beside his name and was killable (or arrestable) by a hunter in or out of suit, reducing the points for each kill when in suit only. Time would also lower his arrange points and remove the status at a fixed rate. A thief in suit was very likely to drop his suit when killed and if he took his suit off, he was unable to put any suit back on until the wanted status was removed.
