Forum Rules and Regulations

Basic Rules:

1. No spamming. Big no no!
2. No Bot supporting. Botting is against joymax rules and therefore against SRA rules.
3. You are NOT allowed to post a link to a .zip or a .exe file. Any posting of a .zip or .exe will get you banned. This forum will not be used to steal people’s information or characters by posting keyloggers or Trojans.

Flaming:
Flaming is allowed! But with a catch.

You may flame a person for:
1. Botting.
2. Being a dumbass.
3. Being a an annoying prick.

You may NOT flame a person for:
1. Being new.
2. Being clueless.
3. Asking questions.
4. Not using search button.
5. Personal flaming.

Why are you allowed to flame Bots?

Because the best anti-bot tactic that was used back when sro was new, was social stigma. Fear of being labeled a botter kept many players legit. Silkroad Tavern, the 1st forum of its time, put a stop on all bot posts. This allowed botters to run around and act like little pricks without fear of anything. The legits all moved to Silkroad Forums where the anti-bot atmosphere kept the community nice and bot free. After time, Tavern died and the bot losers moved to Silkroad Forums. As bot topics became more frequent, the mods got a brilliant idea. Lets stop legits from flaming bots. I bet anyone can guess the rest. To make a long story short, SRO is now 95% bot.

If you flame a person for botting, please back up your flame. Screenshot(s) are needed or the topic will be counted as a personal flame unrelated to botting and deleted. Also keep these kinds of posts at the Community Forum section of the forum and under the proper Server.

Why are you allowed to flame dumbasses and annoying pricks?

Cuz u can and should. Sometimes people need to be pwned in order to be put in there place. Feel free to pwn them.

Why are you NOT allowed to flame new and clueless people with questions?

Because they are here to learn and become part of the community. The search button is nice if you want to find something. If someone new does not want to use the search button, he/she does not have to. Sometimes topics that answer a question are pushed to the back of the forum. Sometimes the information is outdated. Sometimes there question is more specific to there needs. If you don’t want to answer it, then don’t. But do not go into their posts and be a smart ass and post a not so cute picture of a search button.

Is there any other kinds of acceptable flaming?

There is 1 other kind of acceptable flaming not covered by the above rules. That is competitive flaming between rival guilds. Here at SRA you are allowed to make a post about how "guild X" got pwned in a guild war cuz they are a bunch of rejects who fight like little girls. The only rule is that you keep these kinds of posts at the Community Forum section of the forum and under the proper Server.

Sigs:

Keep your sigs small. Big sigs suck. If you use a big sig, ill delete it. If you use it again, you lose your sig ability. Cry about it, and ill change your avatar to a naked fat old man and make it so you cant change it back. :P

That’s all. Go have fun. Remember, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Kick them in the balls instead and eventually you will weed out all stupidity on earth.
