im sorry if this is the wrong spot
ive been infected with "Antivirus xp 2008", i googled it and theirs tutorials or w/e tell you what u have to download, but the virus is blocking the sites with the proper tools from me, soooo...
if any one can plzzz help me with just a download link here itll help me out.. one of the programs is called macrobytes i beleive.. though im not sure.

Dude, that's a weird virus AND it had to come from somewhere... and definitely not from youtube. The guy telling you about porn wasn't joking, nor the one who said TO FULLY FORMAT YOUR HARD DISK DRIVE (best choice, except if u have Kasper, NOD32, any main antivirus, but my guess is that you don't, else you wouldn't end up like this).

They both helped, but you wouldn't wanna listen.

i would need a windows xp disc to reinstall after reformting witch i dont have(money wise also) so thats out of the question, as for porn.. theirs many ways i coulda got infected. like p2p... bad ads.. and not tom mention my avast was turned off for some unknown reason.

also im not tryin to have an argument on where or how i got his... the point is i got it...period, im simply asking anyone to give me a link to dl Malwarebyter Anti-malware thats all im asking, because the virus is blocking any site i can get help from.

As mention before format is the best anti-virus there is. As you say, you got the virus how? I don't care but you should watch out what your downloading. Simply watch pr0n doesn't give you a virus you should always accept the software to be installed.

There is a lot of information on the internet about how to remove these kind of programs. Watch out for programs that 'free program scanners and remove virus programs' they are scams and often cost a lot of money.

Just download a vanilla XP ISO over Bit-torrent and slipstream it with whatever you need. You should only be down an hour assuming you don't have to squabble with Microsoft over your license. Besides, if you managed to catch a virus I'm guessing your current install is fucked up beyond all repair.

i got the little bugger removed, or aleast seems to be.... and yeh it did seriously messed up my computer in way i still dont know, or let alone want to know >.<, an as for the links xzaz gave would of been helpfull but it still seem i cannot connect to those sites yet im connected to the internetz.... i guess thats one of the problems virus left me... i also did a check on files modified for today an it came up with 20% of my pc's memory mostly windows prefetch files server hosts an system 32 files... but dam... this is the worst virus i encounterd. anyways thx xzaz an Crour.. hopefully i can still play Ecsro :\ XD

Format your computer before u do anything else considering you frequently use things such as paypal/myspace/instant messengers/ECSRO. Considering you don't know how the virus came to be, Consider you downloaded something just there could of being 10+ things besides that virus including keyloggers and Trojans. Basically im saying that because you stopped one thing there could be hundred of other things running in the background still. If you don't want to format your computer your setting yourself up for failure but there are somethings you can do,
download a Firewall,do not turn off your antivirus, as they said avoid watching pornography if you don't have an active firewall or antivirus.

My College was infected with this virus at the end of the year gawd that was a hetic time since we were handing work in.

A. DO NOT!!! AND I MEAN DO NOT PLUG ANY FLASH DRIVES IN THERE!!! the way it infected the college i attend was jumping via flash drives which every computing student had. it has also infected the image for Operating systems which they boot off.

B. Install AVG Anti Virus or Kaspersky Internet Secuirty 2009 Both of these are able to clean it (I Reccomend Kaspersky)

C. If Both Fails Back needed files and format.
