| I decided to make a new Errors and Fixes post for ecSRO because it seems that nightbloom's post had become too messy. Not all of the fixes were on there, and noobs were just posting on the last page without reading any of the thread, even though their problem had been mentioned several times before. I decided to make this one, which I will lock, to prevent people from just posting their problems on here without reading. If anyone has a problem that isn't solved here, feel free to make a post and we can get it figured out. If anyone has a solution to a problem that isn't mentioned here, feel free to send it to me in a private message, and then I will add it here. Thank you to all of the SRA Members who contributed to helping solve these problems. Direct x 9.0 Error ![]() It says you need Direct x 9.0? Well you can fix that easily without downloading anything, just follow these steps. 1. Right click on the Silkroad Addiction ecSRO icon 2. Go down and select "Properties". 3. Click on the tab that says compatibility. 4. There will be a box that you need to check that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" 5. From the drop-down list, select the option "Windows XP" ![]() Chinese Characters You see nothing but ????? or weird symbols, instead of Chinese characters. You need to change your computer's language to Chinese. 1. Click Start 2. Go to Control Panel 3. Then go to Regional and Language Options. 4. Select the Advanced tab. You will see a drop down menu there were you can select your regional language. 5. Find "Chinese (PRC)" on the list and select it. 6. Hit OK. You may be prompted to insert your windows disk or you may already have these files on your comp. -You will need to do this so that you don't just see a jumble of symbols or ??????, you will see real Chinese characters. Auto-pot wont work ![]() You are probably using AVG. It doesn't like this game for some reason. It also hates the Auto-pot. THC recommends [Only registered users can see links. ] or [Only registered users can see links. ] instead of AVG. 1. Open the AVG System Tray. 2. Go to Tools > Advanced Settings > Resident Shield > Exceptions. 3. Add your Auto-pot path in there. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Start up the Auto-Pot. 6. Done. [Error code(5)] ![]() This error has to do with the AVG Anti-virus system. To get Silkroad working you need to follow these steps: 1. Open the AVG System Tray. 2. Go to Tools > Advanced Settings > Resident Shield > Exceptions. 3. Add your ecSRO path in there. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Start up ecSRO. 6. Done. If you use NOD32, this is how you can solve this error: 1. Open nod32 Anti-virus. 2. Open logs and nod32 system tools. 3. Logs > Threat logs > select the ecSRO folder > click right and delete the quarantine folder. 4. Nod 32 system tools > select quarantine > select you ecSRO folder > restore them with right click. 5. Restart your computer. 6. Enjoy. [Error code(2)] Refer to Error code 5. Server is undergoing Inspection or updates. If you get the message saying that the server is undergoing inspection or updates, first check on [Only registered users can see links. ] to see if the server is actually down. If the server is running but your computer says that the server is undergoing inspection or update, then you need to follow these steps: 1. Download the new Media.pk2 which is found in the downloads section of the [Only registered users can see links. ] 2. Once you have downloaded the file, double click it and extract the Media.pk2 file to your desktop. 3. Once you have the file on your desktop, copy and paste it into the Silkroad Addiction ecSRO Folder, which is found in > C:/Program Files/Silkroad Addiction ecSRO/ . 4. Paste the new Media.pk2 file in there. 5. You will be asked if you want to replace it. Select "Yes". 6. Now try ecSRO, and it should work! Start Button Will Not Appear Make sure that you have the server you want to play on, selected, or else the start button will not show. If it still doesn't show, open and close the launcher 2 or 3 times, and if that doesn't fix anything, the server could be down. "???" Error! ![]() This error is caused by a few different problems. 1. Make sure you have the most up-to-date Media.pk2 file. Not having an up-to-date file will cause you to get this error every time you log in. You can find the file by either visiting [Only registered users can see links. ] , or if that site is down, simply start up the ecSRO launcher, and select ECSRO(Fembria) and there will be text to the left with a link where you can obtain the newest Media.pk2 file. 2. Sometimes, the graphics in the game are too much for your computer to handle. Certain visual effects together will cause an overload on your graphics card causing your game to crash, and causing you to receive this error. If this happens frequently, make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date, and lower the graphics of your game. You can also choose to run the game in compatibility for older versions of windows, which will put less strain on your video card. Do this by Right-clicking the ecSRO icon, selecting properties, and navigating to the tab that contains the option to run it in compatibility mode. 3. Sometimes your character can be stuck in a glitched location, causing the game to crash immediately as you log in, before you can even move or do anything. The only solution to this problem is to log into an alternate character, and contact a GM, explaining your problem to them (without spamming them) and asking them to simply move your character to a different location. That is the only way you can solve this particular instance of the "???" error. Failed to Connect to Server.(C10) Error ![]() This error occurs when there is an error after you log out or get disconnected, causing the server to think your account is still logged in. To fix this, log onto the server using a completely different account, and tell the GM to disconnect your C10 error account, or to restart the server. Skill bar is not saving This error is caused because a new file is needed to save the skills. Download this file: [Only registered users can see links. ] The only thing you have to do is : 1. download ecsro client version 1.091 and install it 2.after you have installed the client, you need to run patch 001. Follow the steps of the patching file. After that you can order the skills in the shortcut bar and they will be saved again. Launcher doesn't work If you're using Vista and your launcher doesn't work. Then try using the following steps: 1 Click Start 2 Go to Control Panel 3 Go to Security 4 Turn Windows Firewall on or off 5 Turn it On (recommended)
